Farnham Walking Festival 2019

This year’s Festival of Walking runs from 19 May to 2 June and our Group is again contributing two guided walks. Full details of the Festival are at https://www.farnhamwalkingfestival.org/ where all places on walks need to be booked in advance.

Our two walks are:

Monday 20 May: EXPLORING THE HERITAGE, WILDLIFE AND CONSERVATION OF THE BOURNE VALLEY.

Walk Leader:  Richard Sandars and Charles Fearnley (Bourne Conservation Group)

Start Time: 2.15 pm Finish Time: 4.30 pm

Distance: 3 miles

Meeting Point:  St Thomas-on-The Bourne Church (SU 844455) GU9 8HA

A circular walk which begins at the Church of St Thomas-on-The Bourne, visiting sites of heritage and wildlife interest in the area, giving a historical account of the development of The Bourne through the writings of George Sturt and other local residents.

Wednesday 29 May: A WALK IN THE BOURNE WOODS

Distance: 4 miles

A scenic circular walk down the Bourne Valley, into and around the Bourne Woods with special attention to local history, wildlife and filming in the Woods.
